Using My Time

"The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time."

Captialism

"Why are people in Somolia starving to death? Because they don't have any money. There's plenty of food in the world, just not enough money."

Isn't there something wrong when there is food sitting around not being eaten, while people are starving, and their only problem is that they don't have money, nor make money? Perhaps a fly in the ointment that is Capitalism.

It's that time again to make New Year's Resolutions. Those commitments people make with little or no intention of keeping. I normally don't make New Year's Resolutions, and thus far this year is no different, but I have been thinking about it, about goals that I have, things that I should change about myself, things I need to improve. I think I can sum it up the same way a comic that I read yesterday did, "I just want to be better".

I don't really think I have any firm goals for life, I guess I always think that I am too young to worry about such things, that it's too early to worry about setting goals. After all, I am in school, so there isn't much opportunity for me to pursue any goals I may come up with. I tend to think that's just an excuse though. While thinking about this I stumbled about a line from a book that I found interesting, although unfortunately it didn't help me establish any sort of goals:

"If your goals do not move you, if they do not inspire and incite you to action, then you have not found the right goals."

Have you found the right goals?
